Exhibition “Sagardo ibaiak, bizitza iturri”

Exposición “María de Labayen” en la sidrería Zelaia
La exposición "María de Labayen" muestra a través de varios paneles la valentía de una mujer sidrera del siglo XVI. Maria de Labayen, vecina de Lezo, quedó viuda y para poder sacar adelante a sus dos hijas elaboró sidra con las manzanas de su casa y la comercializó, siendo incluso socia de un barco ballenero que hacía negocio con la grasa del cetáceo.

Cider Week in Igartubeiti
The Igartubeiti Farmhouse Museum celebrates Cider Week annually, putting the press into operation and makes cider according to techniques used 500 years ago. In October, the Igartubeiti beam press is put into operation following the traditional procedure from the 16th-century rural workers, giving visitors the chance to see this activity in person.
