There is a long tradition of cider making at the estate, but its orchards have not been used for that purpose for more than 60 years. Bill, who lives in Lansdowne Road, said: “It’s about creating a sustainable business out of nothing, and kind of relying on local support, to create something that hopefully people like and enjoy.” Ashcombe Cider is currently being stocked in Budleigh at Delytes Deli, Pynes Farm Shop, and behind the bar in the cricket club, and Bill now hopes to add other flavours of cider and fruit juice to the range.
